Well Woven Welcomes Newborns

Newborn care is one of the most important — and most tender — seasons of life. At Well Woven, we don’t believe this period should feel rushed or transactional like it sometimes can in a busy, insurance-driven pediatric office with 10 other coughing kids in the waiting room. We believe new parents deserve time, calm, questions, reassurance, and care that feels personal.

Dr. Catherine Lok is a family doctor, which means your child can be cared for through every stage of life — newborn days, toddler years, sports physicials, teen anxiety, and beyond. Many families appreciate having one physician who truly knows their child over time instead of seeing a different doctor every visit.

At Well Woven, we have tools to support newborn care thoughtfully, including an infant scale for weight checks and printed growth charts so you can clearly follow your baby’s development. We take an integrative approach to medicine: sometimes medications, ER visits, or hospitalization are absolutely necessary and life-saving. But sometimes they are not. Sometimes ear infections can be watched closely instead of immediately treated with antibiotics for example. Sometimes sleep, hydration, herbs, humidifiers, or other natural supports can help the body heal well.

Especially in a time when whooping cough in on the rise and measles is appearing again in Buncombe, we believe families deserve a doctor who can have nuanced, calm, evidence-based conversations about prevention, illness, and treatment — without rushing you out the door.

The newborn period matters deeply. We’d be honored to partner with you through it. Ask us about collaboration with specialists/lactation consultants.
