We love being the PCP of Therapist

Dr. Lok here, founder and physician at Well woven, the Direct Primary Care Clinic on the border of Asheville and Weaverville. I’m going to speak with a more casual tone here.

I’ve been reflecting on our patients this weekend a lot. One this I’ve realized it just how many of our members (patients) are therapists: LCSW, LCMHC or otherwise. I’m not sure why that is. I will say, I do get excited to on-board therapists as patients: perhaps it’s because they understand more than anyone that “moving the needle” with your health takes time and human-relationships or perhaps it’s that they understand the mind and body make reality for one another or perhaps it’s that they are practiced in respectful communication in a model like ours where patients have my cell phone. I like to think it’s because we can both laugh together at the absurdity of life and the pursuit of finding the “right” direction to take with health.

Whatever it is that draws therapists to Well Woven, I love to see it and welcome it.
